Nothing Without Water is a private non-profit foundation with two distinct missions:
First, we see the global water issue surrounding scarcity, security and water management as a melting time bomb. Engagement and awareness with more than the people inside the water sector is mandatory to create the action we need to address growing issues across the globe. Water embodies both profound challenges and remarkable opportunities. With a focus on education and advocacy, our foundation aims to empower the public with a comprehensive understanding of the global water crisis. The first venture is with Our Water Museum. A place to come witness and explore water stories you may have only heard about, read about or seen on the news - whether utopian or dystopian - this interactive creation will span water’s trajectory through time and history.. please read more in our museum link.
Second, we are creating entertaining and engaging awareness campaigns & initiatives. We start with our Water Couch™ to share people’s stories, sometimes confessions, around water in their daily life. By introducing relatability and even humor - we are fostering a deeper appreciation for our intimate relationship with water everyday. This we believe will engage a growing audience and inspire a collective commitment and awareness to waters’ need for conservation and sustainable management.
These initiatives will help impact positive change across society and will help to shape the governmental policies of the future.
'Nothing Without Water,' serves as both a rallying cry and a branding agency for water's perspective. Our aim is to shift the paradigm by amplifying water's voice and emphasizing its essential role in the interconnected web of life.
Join us in embracing water's point of view and working towards a world where water is cherished, respected, and safeguarded.
Water diary. 2024.
Many of you wake after sleeping and do not think twice about how lucky you are to have me be readily available in your home. Some of you, on the other hand, are haunted in your sleep not knowing what the next dawn could be like without me being available to you.
I present quite a dichotomy, I know. Abundance vs scarcity, pure vs polluted, healing vs destructive, life vs death. I can give you everything… if you are good to me.
What a dichotomy I have to live with to generate such mixed feelings from you.
I have been used against my will to start wars, fight wars and win wars. I have been a victim and a weapon, both - going back thousands of years.
I feel I am taken for granted.
And I have been manipulated in your world for way too long.
It’s time for you to understand why this can no longer be the case.
Because there is no way you can live without me.
Welcome to water's point of view.
Water past, water present and the many possibilities of its future. Experience in person and interactively, the journey of water through time.
How far we have come is hard to imagine, this is why we are here to show you.
WATER PAST
Entering water’s past, you will witness how far we have come since man started to secure water for personal use, agriculture and irrigation. The ways in which water has been purified and used over time ~ filtration through sand, the digging of important aqueducts, the various additives to water and of course, the wars that have depleted or poisoned water, or that water has helped win.
WATER PRESENT
Our present, the various abundant and precarious situations currently in our watery world around the globe. From India, to the United States, to Mexico and into Africa. From great abundance to daunting need, experience the processes we use to purify our water, and also, how it gets contaminated. How some communities have incredible water capture for rain, and others - have very little, including communities plopped in the middle of a desert. And most importantly we acknowledge and create experiences around how dearly we love and enjoy water. Our greatest love affair is with water.
WATER FUTURE
The future, what exactly will this be? Several compelling scenarios, depending on how we handle things right now. We are hopeful, we are planning, while also many ignore and continue to not pay attention to the physical facts right in front of us. The moves we all make on this planet ~ whether the CEO of a large company, a city government administrator, a farmer growing crops, the dean of a school or university - or someone at home in their kitchen making dinner ~ every one of us has impact on the water on this earth. This part of our museum explores what the different versions of our future may look like.
Experience our interactive world of water, and leave enthralled, hopeful and, possibly in shock.
An experience you will not soon forget.

Stay tuned for our Water Couch Initiative for fun and engaging entertainment about your everyday water intimacies. Across the world, young and old, everyone has a personal water story. Your Water Story is a very intimate one, and one you likely don’t think about…. how you brush your teeth without even thinking, wash your face while paying attention to the image in the mirror… often that’s time to think about your daily to do list, events coming up later that day. This is a fun showcase paying tribute to your relationship with water. Whether you realize it or not, it is your most intimate relationship.

Chayse leads the charge for water. While she is known for interior design and architecture, she has been involved in environmental activism for over 2 decades. First, with the NRDC, then, as an advocate for Environment California. Chayse’s design trips to India along with a fracking tour around the central valley of California, led her to awareness around water issues that are taken for granted around the world. She will get down and dirty for water, including on a dry lake bed.
Chayse believes a lifetime in humankind’s habitat is enough to want to help preserve nature‘s greatest resource – WATER – what makes everything else possible.
We are assembling a board of experts, change-makers, activists and global leaders in their fields - that involve environmental awareness, water and humanitarian efforts - to deliver lasting impact with our projects.
Kimberly joins us in the charge for water bringing experience and insights on managing the business side of water. Her background working with the Niagara Falls Transit Authority, along with heading multicultural initiatives for hospitals and hospitality venues - brings well-rounded perspective to our global approach to the water story.
